Marble Mineral Oil

I wanted to avoid flammable substances.
Marble mineral oil. Treats wood marble and stainless steel countertops did you know most countertop maintenance products rely on mineral oil. Before sealing a marble countertop test it with mineral oil or water to make sure it really does need to be sealed. If the mineral oil does leave a dark stain your marble or granite is not damaged. Stop over paying and use what food service and industrial customers have been using all along with mineral oil.
Put a few drops of mineral oil or water on your counter and leave it for a few minutes 4 minutes for the water and 10 for the mineral oil. Not all marble needs to be sealed. Unfortunately sealing marble won t help to prevent etchings. Adding mineral oil or ammonia to the paste would increase the poultice s effectiveness at drawing out oil and also be something cool to brag about at my next family reunion.
If the mineral oil does leave a stain then using a solvent based sealer needs to be your choice for sealing marble and granite. Take a small amount of mineral oil and use a cotton ball or something similar to dab it on your marble or granite. Instead i got a stone cleaner from the hardware store and mixed some into the paste. At the end of the prescribed period wipe up the mineral oil with a soft clean absorbent cloth.
Etching is not a stain. The mineral oil should sit for the same 10 to 15 minutes as the water test both can be done at the same time. Sealing your countertop is probably the best way to protect it but before sealing it you should make sure it needs to be sealed. But my backsplash is above a stove.
